This levada has recently been restored, which gives it a very modern look, at least in the upper part. During the hike you can admire the stunning view of the impressive mountain landscape. So far we have only hiked the upper part and except for a few small gradients this levada is easy to walk and flat.
But since you are high in the mountains, you should be prepared for all weather situations. There is no shade, so don’t forget the sun protection. But it also can get stormy, because you walk along the ridge.
You can park at the Miradouro Lombo do Mouro (we park a little bit further towards Encumeada). We think especially this first part of the levada is very nice, but you can also walk the levada further down into the valley to the little village Meia Légua. But then you either have to walk back the whole way or have another possibility to get back to the beginning.
