The path to the Levada do Rei begins at the Quebradas waterworks in São Jorge. After climbing up a few steps, this walk is also flat and easy to walk. The walk through a lush, unspoiled forest area shows the natural wealth of the island. On the way you can admire many passion fruit-banana bushes with their beautiful flowers and also taste their sweet nectar.
At the beginning/end there is a café with cakes, some snacks and drinks.
This is a very popular levada, so it is recommended to start early.
