FINALLY DIVING IN MADEIRA !!!

Madeira is one of the best dive sites in Europe and of course I had to try it.
With 8 years of diving experience, though after a long break, I was finally able to enjoy the underwater world again.

There are many different diving schools and dive sites that make diving in Madeira an ideal place for divers, freedivers and snorkelers. Here the Atlantic Ocean offers different depths, excellent visibility and a constant water temperature of 18-24 degrees Celsius throughout the year, therefore it will be a unforgettable underwater experiences for the experienced divers as well as for the beginners.

In Madeira, an underwater nature reserve was established in the 1980s, and since then fishing has been strictly prohibited and shipping has been very restricted.
Therefore a unique underwater world developed and you can admire groupers, barracudas, parrotfish, puffer fish, seahorses, rays and in the summer also mantas. With a little luck you may also spot sea lions and monk seals.

In addition, several shipwrecks lie as an artificial reef off the coast of Madeira. Some of them have been shipwrecked a long time ago, but 3 wrecks were sunk especially for this purpose. This offers a diving experience of a special kind.

I’ve made 3 great dives in Madeira. The first time was along the house reef of the diving center and I went twice by boat further out, where I also dived to the newest wreck.
The photos were all taken by myself or other divers in the group during my dives.

In the future I will certainly do more dives and maybe they will be looking for a Dutch speaking instructor.

Até à próxima!
